Line and shape
I chose the fourth Image within my collection of six pictures
~What locations and subject matter did you choose to shoot for your photos? The location in which I took my photo was at my grandmothers house on her wooden patio.
~Describe the photo you took: Within this picture, I put a leaf in the left-hand corner to give the image more contrast and emphasis instead of it being just a shot of a simple piece of wood.
~What is the distance in the shot? (How close or far away are you from your subject?) I was approximately 1-2 feet away from the patio.
~What was your point of view when you took the photo? (from above, below, straight on...) Is your photograph horizontal or vertical? The point of view in which I took the picture was from above. My photograph is horizontal.
~Did you consider the rule of thirds to compose your shots? In which photos? Describe. I did consider the rules of thirds. I lined up where everything would be, using the grid on my iPhone.
~What leads the viewer’s eye through this photo? The leaf drew the viewers eyes to the image. I also used negative and positive space, with many uses of line.

Pattern and Texture
I chose the third picture within my collection of six photos.
-Describe your best photo: Within the image, I included a perfect balance of light and dark values to create emphasis and variation.
-What is the distance in the shot? (How close or far away are you from your subject?) The distance is very close, less than a foot away.
-What was your point of view when you took the photos? (from above, below, straight on...) The picture was from the side.
-Is your photograph horizontal or vertical? My photo is vertical.
-Does this photo follow the rule of thirds? Why or why not? (Describe). This photo does not follow the rule of third because it is no perfectly alined, but the material of the picture still creates pattern and texture.
-Is this photo an example of pattern, texture and/or rhythm? Explain. This picture is an example of of pattern due to the fact that there is repetition of black and white.
-Which image is the best example of a properly exposed photo? Explain why. Image three is the best representation of a properly exposed photo because it has balance of negative and positive space and light and dark values with a range of gray shadows and mid-tone highlights.

Motion
Photo 2:
~Approximately what shutter speed did you use to freeze action? The shutter speed that I used for the freeze action was 800.
~What ISO and WB settings did you use? The ISO setting that I used was at a setting of 800. The WB setting that I used was daylight.
~What action did you freeze? (Describe). The action I froze at was when the pinwheel was not moving, and it was at it's perfect point
~What was your distance, and point of view for the photo? I was less than a foot away from the pinwheel.
~Describe any compositional elements (tools) that are present in or that strengthen the photo.(rule of thirds, positive and negative space, line, shape, pattern, texture, strong colors, contrast...) I did not use rule of thrirds due to the fact that I wanted it to have an uneven look to it. I was sure to include both positive and negative energy as well as line and shape to give the photograph more emphasis.
Photo 4:
~Approximately what shutter speed did you use to purposely blur action? The shutter speed I used to blur the action was at a setting of 200.
~What ISO and WB settings did you use? The ISO setting that I used was 200, and the WB was set to daylight.
~What motion, or part of the image shows blur? (Describe). The part of the image that shows blur is the colorful lay while it is in movement.
~What was your distance, and point of view for the photo? I was approximately 1one foot away from the object
~Describe any compositional elements (tools) that are present in or that strengthen the photo.(rule of thirds, positive and negative space, line, shape, pattern, texture, strong colors, contrast...) I used the rule of thirds to reveal the negative and positive space around the object. I brought forth the colorful lay by using photoshop to give it a strong and bright-popping color.
Painting with Light
Photo 1:
~Describe one of your photos from painting with light. I had Ally swirl a light in a circular motion to create the cirlce-like image. I then went into photoshop and changed the color of it to pink to make the photgraph pop out more.
~What shutter speed did you have the camera on? The shutter speed was 5 seconds.
~What light source did you use to create the painting? I used the set of fairy lights to create the painting.
~What impact does the photo have? It has an abstract impact.
~How would the viewer feel looking at your photo? The viewer would be very interested in the photo due to the fact that I brought emphasis to the image.

Aperture
~What f-stop did you have your camera set to create a shallow depth of field? 6.3
~What ISO and WB settings did you use? Iso 800 and incandesant
~If you were on a point and shoot camera, what setting(s) did you use?
~What f-stop did you have your camera set to create a large depth of field? 6.3
~What ISO and WB settings did you use? incandescent If you were on a point and shoot camera, what setting(s) did you use? 400
~Which photo is better? Why? Image 1 is better because it is very close up and shows details of even the tiniest shells
~Why would you want to use a shallow depth of field?When/in what situation would a large depth of field be better? To make the background clear and up close blurry, and a sunset
